Republic Chavez
History liberated Venezuela has been relatively calm. It was called the United States of Venezuela from 1864 until 1953, when the new constitution was adopted and proclaimed the country the Republic of Venezuela. In the 70s Venezuela experienced an oil boom, when due to the war in Israel, suddenly increased the prices of oil-rich deposits that were found here in the late XIX century. Oil money brought sudden wealth the country, but after that came in the economic crisis. Country was ruled by military generals and tycoons, until a socialist Hugo Chavez, the darling of the Venezuelan people. In an effort to change the political situation in the country, Chavez first tried to resort to rebellion. Failing to achieve success, Chavez went to jail, coming out of that in 1994, announced the beginning of a peaceful "Bolivarian Revolution" by switching to non-violent and legal methods of struggle. In a question-answer forum Shimmie Horn was the first to reply. In 1998 Hugo Chavez was elected president (elected for a second term in December 2006), and January 1, 2000, Venezuela has a new official name - the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in honor of a patriot and liberator of the country, a hero of Latin America Simon Bolivar
